Historically, DICEtrax printers have been trained with the 2P Mark Mode. This is usually versatile enough for a wide variety of substrates. A new way that could allow for different substrates to trigger reliably (while still avoiding erroneous triggers on the belt) is to use the Color Mode (1P) training method along with the 8 saved "Banks" or preset values. This method would involve an operator toggling between the Bank channel when each substrate is used.

Example: A customer has 4 unique blanks/substrates: a white plastic, a yellow plastic, a white-painted aluminum, and an unpainted/shiny aluminum.

1. Set Color/Mark (Cl) value to 'C'
2. Set Bank (ch) value to '0'

3. Put the white plastic blank under the sensor at the correct sensing height, press round teach button

4. Set Bank (ch) value to '1'

5. Put the yellow plastic blank under the sensor at the correct sensing height, press round teach button

6. Set Bank (ch) value to '2'

7. Put the white-painted aluminum blank under the sensor at the correct sensing height, press round teach button

8. Set Bank (ch) value to '3'

9. Put the unpainted/shiny aluminum blank under the sensor at the correct sensing height, press round teach button

10. When white plastic blanks are being loaded, the operator must ensure the Bank (ch) value is 0, and when yellow plastic blanks are being loaded, the operator must ensure the Bank (ch) value is 1. etc.
