DICE II printing systems have support modules that create a vacuum which allows ink to circulate in the ink supplies. This vacuum system is necessary to keep fresh ink in the printheads but can cause problems on startup and shutdown. If the reservoir vacuum breaks and the system is not being monitored, ink can be pulled into the weir vacuum line.
This procedure will describe how to install a check valve in the support module of a DICE II ink supply. If at any point the weir vacuum becomes more negative than the reservoir, the check valve will open and both vacuums will be exposed to the the weir vacuum. This ensures ink is not pulled into the weir line.
PPSI will provide the check valve assembly to all customers at no charge. Please contact PPSI with any questions.
